Frank Lloyd Wright UNESCO World Heritage Site Identity

Concept / Creative Study - 2023

The 20th-Century Architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright is comprised of 8 important structures that Wright constructed over his 7-decade career. In 2019, UNESCO selected these structures to become World Heritage Sites due to their influence and contribution to modern architecture in the 20th century and beyond.

Problem: Create a visual identity/branding package for an UNESCO World Heritage Site using a concise, recognizable design system, conveying the historical and/or cultural significance of the chosen landmark in a visually appealing manner.

Solution: After carefully studying Wright’s work, I developed a visual identity package containing a static and animated logo, branding guide, concept for a website dedicated to his work and an app. My aim was to honor the late Wright’s legacy and his signature style of organic architecture that characterizes the 8 structures of the UNESCO site.

Project Scope: Visual Identity/Branding, Web Design, Copywriting, Art Direction, Motion

Tools Used: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Figma

I based the logo on one of Wright’s most iconic structures, his museum, Fallingwater, in Pennsylvania, USA. The earthly, neutral colors I used in the color palette were used to channel the spirit of Wright's style of organic architecture.
